Win a date with Adam Green

In the spirit of charity, Adam Green has stepped up to be auctioned off for a “date” at Monday night’s A VERY GREEN & LYNCH CHRISTMAS event at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz in Austin, Texas.  Both girls and guys alike are welcome to bid on the “date” (which will consist of a one-on-one private dinner with Adam when he returns to Austin again in March) and all proceeds will go towards helping Austin’s American Legion Hall build a new elevator for their disabled veterans.  Sorry, you must attend the event to place a bid.

Also to be auctioned off at the event: the screen-worn army jacket that Tamara Feldman wore as “Marybeth” in HATCHET 1, an actual prop hatchet used in the making of HATCHET 1, the bloody skateboard prop from WRONG TURN 2, an autographed HATCHET 1 screenplay, an extremely rare CHILLERAMA “ZOM-B-MOVIE” poster signed by artist Phil Roberts, and a framed piece of “Victor Crowley’s” overalls (signed by Kane Hodder) as worn in HATCHET 1.  Tons of other cool and rare items will be given away throughout the night including rare ArieScope crew T-shirts (shirts that only the crew who made the actual films have) and loads of DVDs/Blu Rays and other items from our friends at Image Entertainment, FEARnet, Anchor Bay, Dark Sky Films, MPI, Danger After Dark, Lionsgate, A&E, 1492 Films, TLA Releasing, Jinx Clothing, artists James Lowder & Tm Seeley, and more.  If you live in Texas, don’t miss this special night and your chance to get a first glimpse at ArieScope’s new FEARnet TV sit-com HOLLISTON and Joe Lynch’s upcoming epic KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM.

JACK CHOP and GREEN FAN T-shirts have sold out

Black Friday shoppers have cleaned us out of both JACK CHOP and ADAM GREEN FAN T-shirts, however HATCHET and CHILLERAMA merchandise (as well as all of ArieScpe’s films on DVD & BLU RAY) are still available in our merchandise section.  Get your holiday shopping done early and done right by ordering now!

Adam Green to speak at USC

For his final public appearance of 2011, Adam Green will be joining filmmakers Joe Lynch and Adam Rifkin for a special screening of ArieScope’s CHILLERAMA and in-depth Q&A about the filmmaking process and their careers in general on Wednesday night 11/30 at 7pm at the USC school of cinematic arts.  The filmmakers will also be joined by CHILLERAMA actors Kane Hodder and Brendan McCreary as well as ZOM-B-MOVIE composer Bear McCreary.  This event is open to the public so get your tickets now.  You do NOT need to be a USC student to attend.  The last time Green spoke at USC was with writer/director Paul Solet and cinematographer Zoran Popovic when screening AreScope’s GRACE back in 2009 and it proved to be one of the best Q&A’s on that film’s tour, so we highly, highly recommend attending this if you can and if you are a working or aspiring filmmaker yourself.  Bring your technical questions and get ready to roll up your sleeves and geek out with the boys.

Green & Lynch Take Over the Alamo!

Just in time for the holidays, writer/directors Adam Green (HATCHET 1 & 2, FROZEN, SPIRAL) and Joe Lynch (WRONG TURN 2, the upcoming KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM) are coming to the Alamo Ritz in Austin, Texas on Monday, November 28th to carve up and serve you an unhealthy amount of movie cuts with all the artery-clogging trimmings. A VERY GREEN & LYNCH CHRISTMAS will feature various fun short films from the  horror anthology,  CHILLERAMA, trailers that have never seen the light of day, promos from their upcoming TV show HOLLISTON, a new teaser and exclusive clip from the upcoming KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM, and will close with a 90-minute slasher that will have you laughing in ways that may rival TROLL 2.  Throughout the night, the two filmmakers will be having a very candid and open discussion with the audience about their work, tribulations, and the state of the genre so bring your questions.  To make things even more awesome, the boys will be giving away a whole bunch of posters, DVDs, Blu-rays, and soundtracks. Nobody leaves empty-handed (or sober)!

Most importantly is that ALL proceeds from the evening will go to help fund Austin’s local American Legion Hall’s quest to build an elevator for disabled veterans- so if you have a few extra dollars to bring and give to help the cause, we urge you to do so. Tickets will go on sale very soon through the Alamo Drafthouse’s official website so check often and frequently.  This event will likely sell out before the actual night, so if you live in the area, if you like to laugh, and if you want to show your appreciation to those who have served, sacrificed, and fallen in the name of freedom… please drop whatever else you’re doing and take this night to join us.  As always, bring anything you want to be signed, bring your cameras, and bring your questions.  Most of all, check your inhibitions at the door and come ready to get rowdy and laugh.  This night is all about laughs and getting a one of a kind chance to truly hang out with a theater full of fans and like-minded cinefiles.  Even if you’re one of the many bloggers or critics in the Austin area community, we encourage you to leave the work and opinions at home for the night and just come and enjoy yourself.  This is going to be one for the books and Green, Lynch, and the entire Drafthouse family is looking forward to it more than you can imagine.  We all truly hope to not only see you there, but to HEAR you party with us and show your appreciation for our beloved veterans who are the real heroes of the night.

MGM Studios to make Adam Green’s KILLER PIZZA

MGM is in talks to acquire Killer Pizza, an Adam Green-scripted adaptation of the Greg Taylor book about a 14-year old boy who lands a summer job at a pizza joint that is actually a front for a monster hunting enterprise. Rafaella De Laurentiis (CONAN THE BARBARIAN, DRAGONHEART) is producing with 1492 Pictures and CJ Entertainment. 1492 Entertainment’s Chris Columbus (HARRY POTTER, THE GOONIES, GREMLINS, THE HELP) brought it to MGM after meeting with the brass there and sensing the studio’s appetite for Gremlins and Goonies-type fare, and Killer Pizza fit that bill. After a long period of being frozen, MGM has become an active buyer, recently partnering with Sony on the Antoine Fuqua-directed Eminem-starrer SOUTHPAW after DreamWorks let that project go. The company also acquired Where’s Waldo, which had been developed as an animated film property by Illumination Entertainment. APA and Industry rep the writer and CAA repped the book.
