Former EMT turned public figure turned writer, Andrew Yong was the only survivor of the “Honey Island Swamp Massacre” where over 40 people were brutally murdered in a Louisiana bayou over a weekend in February 2007.  Yong stood accused of having been the madman that carried out the crimes, however much to the world’s surprise he was ultimately found innocent by a grand jury.  The public at large has never bought Yong’s fantastical claims that it was in fact the ghost of local legend “Victor Crowley” that murdered all of those innocent people and most still believe that the former paramedic merely beat the legal system and got away with one of the most horrific crimes in US history.

Yong’s tell-all autobiography about his experiences (“I, Survivor”) was set to be released on the 10 year anniversary of the massacre and he sat down with THE MOVIE CRYPT podcast while doing his promotional rounds in Los Angeles.  However, just four days after recording, Yong was involved in a mysterious plane crash in the very same bayou where the 2007 massacre took place and “I, Survivor” was pulled from shelves on the very day it came out.   The release was postponed by the publisher until the investigation surrounding the circumstances of the crash were complete.

With Yong’s book now releasing this month (8/13 special edition release, 8/31 wide release), THE MOVIE CRYPT has finally been given the go ahead to release Yong’s never before aired episode.
