HOLLISTON SEASON 2 to premiere June 4th! Official poster!

FEARnet will premiere the second season of the hit original sitcom HOLLISTON, on Tuesday, June 4 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT as part of its Twisted Comedy Block, it was announced today by Peter Block, president and general manager of FEARnet.  Season Two of the series—which was renewed for a second season after just two episodes had aired—is set for a 10-episode order, an increase of four episodes over Season One.

FEARnet is currently carried by a majority of the major U.S. cable operators and is in nearly 10 million homes and growing. To benefit those fans who are unable to experience the show on Tuesday nights, for the first time ever, each week’s episode will be streamed on FEARnet.com starting Thursday, June 6, and will be available for a seven day period. Fans can also catch up on episodes on FEARnet On Demand every Wednesday after a new episode premieres.

HOLLISTON—created by celebrated genre filmmaker, Adam Green, who wrote and produced the upcoming HATCHET III, in theaters this June—stars Green and fellow real-life genre filmmaker Joe Lynch (KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM, WRONG TURN 2), as “Adam” and “Joe,” two aspiring horror filmmakers, dealing with the struggles of life, love, and career aspirations during the post-college period where nothing ever seems to work out like it should. With relatable storylines inspired by Green’s own life experiences that mash-up traditional situational comedy plot lines with popular horror genre-themes, HOLLISTON is the hip and edgy horror-fueled sitcom that FEARnet fans had been waiting for and have now embraced whole heartedly.

The series also stars Laura Ortiz as Joe’s longtime girlfriend and adorably demented artist; Corri English as Adam’s confused and on-again/off-again childhood sweetheart; and heavy metal icons Dave Brockie as “Oderus Urungus”, Adam’s twisted closet-dwelling imaginary friend and guardian angel, and Dee Snider as “Lance Rockett”, the delusional wannabe rockstar who runs the local cable station where “Adam” and “Joe” work.  Season Two is loaded with appearances from genre stars such as Bill Moseley (TEXAS CHAINSAW), Kane Hodder (HATCHET III), Sid Haig (THE LORDS OF SALEM), David Naughton (AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON), Danielle Harris (HALLOWEEN IV and V), Bailee Madison (DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK), and James Gunn (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY).

HOLLISTON demonstrates not only the breadth of FEARnet’s programming, but also the broad reach of the horror culture. We surprised people by opting for a sitcom. Now, we’re going to surprise them with the places HOLLISTON goes, as Season Two really celebrates the genre with episodes that mock, embrace and twist the types of scary movies we love,” said Block.

“We are thrilled with how quickly we’ve found an audience with this series and this cast,” added Green.  “HOLLISTON was designed to fill a missing gap in situational television comedies and speak directly to genre-fans who can’t typically find these types of themes or comedic sensibilities in the average sit-com.”

Following the events of the first season, Season Two ups the ante of outrageousness, taking the show to a wide range of unexpected places. Highlights include the series’ first animated episode, finding the town attacked by a giant blob; a RINGU-inspired J-Horror episode; a Found Footage episode; and a one-hour season finale that will boast two special musical performances by the talented cast and a shocking final scene that will raise the dead. The second season will also feature some surprising twists and developments for the four main friends that will have a major impact on their lives and leave viewers anxious for more.

HOLLISTON is produced for FEARnet by Adam Green’s TV and film production company, ArieScope Pictures in association with The Hacienda Film Co. and A Bigger Boat Productions. Joining Green and Lynch as executive producers are Cory Neal and Andrew Mysko, as well as producers Sarah Elbert, Will Barratt and Sean Becker who directed many of the episodes this season.

HATCHET III is set to open in New York City’s Cinema Village and in Los Angeles at Laemmle Music Hall. Opening week will feature special appearances by cast and crew, followed by Q&A’s at each location. Additional cities will be announced at a later date.

HATCHET III continues the tale of the now-iconic villain Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder). The sequel, which was filmed outside of New Orleans, Louisiana from late May to mid- June, 2012, is a co-production of MPI/Dark Sky Films and Green’s Los Angeles-based ArieScope Pictures.

The HOLLISTON CHRISTMAS SPECIAL is here!

Watch the HOLLISTON Christmas Special un-cut and free on Hulu right here!  The TV version premieres on FEARnet tonight at 8pm EST / 5pm PST and also on FEARnet ON-Demand.

FIRST STILLS FROM THE HOLLISTON CHRISTMAS SPECIAL!

PRESS RELEASE: “Holliston” is FEARnet’s wicked awesome first original television series, created by and starring modern genre master Adam Green (Frozen, Hatchet), returns with a brand new one-hour Christmas special and a season 1 marathon to whet viewers’ appetites for the premiere of season 2 in June.

Catch up on all the “Holliston” hijinks with the complete season 1 “Holliston” marathon at 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT on Dec. 18.

Tune in as aspiring horror filmmakers Adam and Joe (Joe Lynch)—along with Joe’s girlfriend, Laura (Laura Ortiz) and Adam’s childhood sweetheart, Corri (Corri English)—deal with life, love, and Lance Rockett (Dee Snider), while having run-ins with genre legends Kane Hodder, Tony Todd and John Landis, and receiving sincere-yet-terrible advice from GWAR’s Oderus Urungus, who lives in Adam’s closet.

Directly following the marathon at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, the most wonderful time of the year quickly turns into “Silent Night, Deadly Night,” when a blizzard strikes the town of Holliston, trapping Adam, Joe, Corri and Laura inside with no power in the “Holliston Christmas Special.”

To make matters worse, a crazed serial killer has just escaped and is said to be lurking somewhere in the area. Fearing for their lives and having nothing but flashbacks to entertain them, the gang reminisces about the moments in their past that brought them all together. Derek Mears (Friday the 13th) guest stars.

“The Holliston Christmas Special was a great way for us to elaborate on the characters and their back stories while still pushing the show forward,” Green said.  “Not only does it serve as a fantastic bridge between Seasons 1 and 2, but it also sets things up for what’s to come as “Adam” and “Corri” take an eventful turn in their already complicated relationship. Overall it’s a great next entry in the fun and craziness that is ‘Holliston,’ but being a special episode, we’ve also created something a bit more emotional than the norm. We’re all incredibly proud of this one-hour episode and grateful for the chance to do something so unique this early in the series’ life.”

“FAN GAMING NIGHT” Friday December 21, 2012

On Friday night December 21 Adam Green will be holding another “Fan Gaming Night” playing HALO 4 with fans on XBOX Live from 7-9pm PST. Special guests will also be stopping by to throw some frags and teabag your corpses including actor Derek Mears (“Officer Duffy” on HOLLISTON, FRIDAY THE 13TH 2009, PREDATORS), actor Colton Dunn (“Officer Pappas” on HOLLISTON, HATCHET 2, KEY AND PEELE), and special make-up effects artist Robert Pendergraft (HOLLISTON, the HATCHET series, CHILLERAMA).

If you’ve never played before, here’s how it works…

1.) Send a friend request anytime before the night of the event to the gamer tag “AdamFnGreen” and you will be added to that profile’s friend list.
2.) Be on-line and on HALO 4 between 7-9pm PST on Friday night December 21st.
3.) When sent a game invite from “AdamFnGreen”, accept it as quickly as you can and join the party. Play with Adam and friends, chat, meet other fans from all over the world, and have a good time!

It’s that easy. Due to the limited number of players that HALO 4 allows at one time during a big team battle, not everyone will get into every match. But if you don’t get in right away, hang tight. After every few games (usually every 15 minutes depending on how long the matches go and how many fans appear to be on-line) we will will clear out the entire party and start over again by sending another round of invites to all fans appearing on-line and playing HALO 4. How many games you get to play with Adam and his special guests all depends on how many fans turn up the night of the event, but in the past most everyone who has tried to play has gotten a chance to play at least a few rounds. Be patient and please do not keep sending invites and requests to play. So long as your profile is set to appear on-line and so long as you are playing HALO 4 (and available, i.e. not in another match) you will most likely receive an invite before the night is over. Remember, it is first come first serve, so be ready to accept the invite and join the game before the roster of available players becomes full and hopefully you will get at least one (if not several) chances to play and spend some quality cyber time with Adam and friends.

NOTE: The “AdamFnGreen” gamer tag is used only for these “Fan Gaming Nights”. It is not Adam Green’s actual XBOX profile and it is not checked on a regular basis, so any messages sent to the account will likely not be received by Adam personally.

Keep it friendly, have fun, and take part in this special fan appreciation night if you’re a gamer. These events are strictly done as a way of saying “thank you” for being a fan. So don’t be the guy/girl who tries to use this as an opportunity to pitch a movie, don’t hit Adam or the other special guests up for work, and don’t be a dick and ruin the night for everyone else!

See you on the battlefield!
