“An Evening With Adam Green” Prints!

On Saturday November 16, 2019 the Frida theater in Santa Ana, CA presented “An Evening With Adam Green.” This special event included HATCHET (2007), FROZEN (2010), short films, a presentation on “Scary Sleepover,” a HOLLISTON tribute (including scenes from COFFEE & DONUTS – the original film the sit-com is based on), special guests (Director of Photography Will Barratt and Make-Up FX artist Robert Pendergraft), a display of screen-used props from the films (including the “Mrs. Permatteo” jaw-rip head from HATCHET and the “S&M Michael Myers” mask worn by Green during HOLLISTON’s infamous horror icon threesome scene), and lots (and lots) of tales from the trenches. The 5 hour long show celebrating over two decades of cinematic laughs and tears was the ultimate screening event for fans of Adam Green and ArieScope Pictures.

Yorkiethon 2019 - 11x17 Poster-LOWRESTHE MOVIE CRYPT’s 4thannual “Yorkiethon” will take place December 13th– 15th, 2019

Los Angeles, CA – October 31, 2019.THE MOVIE CRYPT podcast announces “Yorkiethon 4” – the podcast’s fourth annual 48-hour livebroadcast to benefit Save A Yorkie Rescue.  December 13th– 15th, 2019 filmmakers and MOVIE CRYPT co-hosts Adam Green (HATCHET, FROZEN), Joe Lynch (MAYHEM, POINT PLANK) and Arwen the Yorkie will once again be staying on the air livefor two days straight in an effort to help save abandoned and abused Yorkshire Terriers.  The annual two day long variety show will feature dozens of celebrity artists and special guests appearing around the clock and performing live comedy, live music, live film commentaries, live script readings, live special FX/art demonstrations, live interviews, and more. In addition to the non-stop live entertainment, “Yorkiethon 4” will once again offer Arwen’s Silent Auction where fans can bid on donated items ranging from autographed movie memorabilia to dates with the three hosts.

“Our annual “Yorkiethon” has become the most important thing that we do each year,” says co-host Adam Green. “Not only do we help save a ton of dogs every Christmas but we see our Hollywood community selflessly come together to accomplish something good.” The list of artists that appear during each year’s 48 hour “Yorkiethon” is always kept as a surprise for listeners but previous guests have included comedian and filmmaker Bobcat Goldthwait (WORLD’S GREATEST DAD), actor and screenwriter Thomas Lennon (RENO 911!), filmmaker Joe Dante (GREMLINS), musician Rudy Sarzo (OZZY OSBOURNE), comedian Doug Benson (DOUG LOVES MOVIES), Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden (MYSTIC RIVER), actor Seth Green (FAMILY GUY), Bryan Fuller (HANNIBAL), and the late horror icon Sid Haig (THE DEVIL’S REJECTS). “Programming two straight days of guests and events and then staying on the air for the full 48 hours is no easy feat,” says co-host Joe Lynch. “But every donation that we see come in is like an adrenaline shot of joy that keeps us more caffeinated than the gallons of coffee that we drink each year.”

“In the past few months alone, Save A Yorkie Rescue has spent over $32,000.00 on our medically complex dogs and our yearly cost exceeds $100,000.00 for medical expenses,” says Cathy Wehrman, Foster Coordinator for Save A Yorkie Rescue. “Without the funds raised through “Yorkiethon” we would be unable to save some of the dogs that we currently accept.” To date THE MOVIE CRYPT’s annual “Yorkiethon” has raised $75,000.00 for the non-profit, volunteer dog Rescue that specializes in rescuing abandoned and abused Yorkshire Terriers.

The live stream for “Yorkiethon 4” will be available to listen to (and watchduring select video segments) on ArieScope.com where links will be provided to either donate money or bid on items in Arwen’s Silent Auction with all proceeds going to Save A Yorkie Rescue.

ROCK AND SHOCK EXCLUSIVES!

Adam Green will be appearing at the ROCK AND SHOCK horror convention in Worcester, MA next weekend (Friday October 11th through Sunday October 13th) and ArieScope is sending him home with two exclusive “Victor Crowley” skulls that will be for sale at his booth!

IMG_1229

Individually hand-made and hand-painted by FX artist Robert Pendergraft (the key FX artist on the HATCHET film franchise), each skull takes 4 days to make! Made from the exact same mold used to create “Victor Crowley’s” exposed skeleton seen on-screen in HATCHET 3, these incredible high end collector’s items are made from a mixture of polyurethane foam and urethane plastic. Each skull comes autographed by Robert Pendergraft and Adam will of course sign them in person at the convention. NOTE: Kane Hodder is also appearing at ROCK AND SHOCK this year so if you’re lucky enough to get one of these amazing props make sure that you get him to sign it, too!

Originally only available for fans to purchase on Adam Green’s 2017 “Dismember America Tour,” these are the very last two skulls that Robert Pendergraft held on to. Skulls are first come first serve and when they’re gone – they’re gone, so if you want to try and get your slasher loving hands on one make sure that you’re among the first in line at Adam’s booth when the celebrity autograph area of the convention opens on Friday. Or just hope that there is still one left on Saturday if you’re not going to be there on Friday! Skulls are $300 each.

Sid Haig 7/14/39 – 9/21/19

ArieScope mourns the loss of our dear friend and cinematic legend Sid Haig. Born in Fresno, California on July 14, 1939, Sid would go on to become an accomplished musician and celebrated actor of the stage and screen. He appeared in over 350 television shows, he starred in over 100 films, and he worked with some of the greatest filmmakers of all time including Jack Hill, Alfred Hitchcock, Lucille Ball, George Lucas, and Quentin Tarantino. Sid’s career defining performance as “Captain Spaulding” in Rob Zombie’s HOUSE OF 1,000 CORPSES (2003) and THE DEVIL’S REJECTS (2005) made him a bonafide icon of the horror genre.

House-of-1000-Corpses-Sid-Haig-Captain-Spaulding“Tutti fuckin’ frutti!”

In his work with ArieScope, Sid stole HATCHET 3 (2013) with his hilarious performance as “Abbott MacMullen,” he had everyone exhausted from laughing with his self-deprecating appearance in HOLLISTON (2013), and he elevated our Halloween short films DON’T DO IT (2016) and THE INTERVENTION (2018) with his voice work as “Robert the Pumpkin.” However, it was Sid’s candor in his episode of Adam Green’s SCARY SLEEPOVER (2015), his honesty during his multiple appearances on THE MOVIE CRYPT podcast (2013, 2017, and 2019), and his emotional episode of HORRIFIED (2017) that made the world fall in love with Sid Haig the man.

Sid Haig was a huge part of the ArieScope family and we will all miss him every day. “Sid was a dear friend with his limitless emotional generosity, a loving mentor with his uncanny guidance and patience, and a much needed champion who constantly lifted me up with his unwavering faith in me,” says Adam Green. “My world won’t be the same without him in it.”
