The Road To Frightfest Part 3 (2010)

“THE DOUCHEBROTHERS PROJECT”

Filmmakers Adam Green and Joe Lynch bring their “Road To Frightfest” trilogy to an end.  Short comedy vignettes, lovingly and specifically made for the world famous FRIGHTFEST film festival in the UK, the “Road To Frightfest” trilogy would go on to become so popular on-line that it played a key role in ArieScope’s sit-com HOLLISTON getting made with Green and Lynch as the leading actors.  Recreating the legendary BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, watch as Adam and Joe struggle to make their way to London in time for the festival. As usual, many jokes are specific to the festival’s history and to specific UK personalities, but we’re confident that horror geeks and genre fans worldwide will still get big laughs.

Frozen (2010)

Critics have called it “JAWS in the snow”, audience members fainted during the film’s Sundance premiere, and legendary critic Rex Reed of the NY Observer said he was “so paralyzed with terror that I chewed a whole pencil in half watching it.”  When three skiers find themselves stranded on a chair lift at a New England ski resort that has closed for the next week, they are forced to make life or death choices that prove to be more perilous than staying put and freezing to death. Shawn Ashmore (X-MEN), Kevin Zegers (TRANSAMERICA), and Emma Bell (THE WALKING DEAD) star in this relentlessly chilling survival thriller that Ain’t It Cool News calls “Hitchcock…with teeth.”

Written and Directed by Adam Green

Theatrical release 2.5.2010
DVD/BLU-RAY release 9.28.2010

“FROZEN is a brilliantly conceived, gut-wrenching horror film about every skier’s worst fear, and the talented writer-director Adam Green gives it life in ways that will leave you impacted long after the 94 minutes of unrelenting suspense have ended.  Every aspect of the nightmare is captured as realistically as breathing by director Green, and his screenplay miraculously finds the time to develop character and build rapport between the excellent actors and the audience.  FROZEN is the best kind of horror film, about innocent people plunged into mind-boggling circumstances beyond their control. I predict instant word-of-mouth success at the box office, but it’s no fad or phenomenon.” – Rex Reed (February 2, 2010)

THAWING OUT: Frozen’s Post-Production Team (2010)

This 13 minute long behind the scenes documentary about FROZEN’s post-production team was never included on the film’s 2010 home video release due to lack of space on the disc.  Recently uncovered (and defrosted), here is the piece in its entirety!  Be sure and check out all of the other incredible behind the scenes documentaries and commentary tracks about the making of FROZEN included on the Blu-Ray and DVD release of the film!  Directed by Adam Barnick.

Jack Chop (2009)

“One… and ya’ fahkin done, kid!”  ArieScope’s 11th annual Halloween short stars Paul Solet (writer/director of GRACE) as “Nicolo”- a Boston area Jack-O-Lantern enthusiast pimping out a pumpkin carving set that is guaranteed to make you “the baddest dude in Revere.”   An instant viral internet phenomenon (over 6 million views to date), Jack Chop’s “Nicolo” character became so popular that Adam Green brought him back as a re-occuring character in ArieScope’s hit sit-com HOLLISTON.

The Road To Frightfest Part 2 (2009)

“AMERICAN DOUCHEBAGS IN LONDON”

Once again, film directors Adam Green and Jow Lynch have collaborated to create five more vignettes for FRIGHTFEST in the UK.  Since it was not only FRIGHTFEST’s 10 Year Anniversary but also the celebration of the re-release of AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, this year’s round of nightly surprises featured the duo recreating their favorite scenes from the classic film.  While you may have to actually be a “FrightFester” to get all of the inside jokes that are specific to the festival’s history, we’re still confident that you’ll get some laughs watching the horror, comedy, and cameos unfold as the boys try to make their way to the greatest genre film festival in the world once again.

Grace (2009)

When a tragic accident leaves “Madeline’s” unborn baby “Grace” dead inside of her, she insists on carrying the baby’s corpse to term. Weeks later when she delivers, the baby miraculously returns to life. Jordan Ladd (CABIN FEVER) stars in this deeply disturbing thriller that critics hailed as “Downright chilling” (Variety), “A truly horrifying film” (CHUD.com), “An emotional and psychological journey into terror” (Nikki Finke, Deadline Hollywood), and warned viewers to “watch at your own risk” (E! Online). After it’s controversial world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival (where two men fainted in the audience), GRACE completed a worldwide award winning festival tour and was released in US theaters on August 14, 2009.

Written and Directed by Paul Solet

Theatrical release 8.14.2009
DVD/BLU-RAY release 9.15.2009

“Here’s a new kind of chick flick: a sunny contemplation of motherhood (breast-feeding especially) presented in a setting of creepy, blood-gushing perversity. GRACE isn’t really a horror movie, but it’s gruesome and unsettling.  First-time feature director Paul Solet maintains iron control of the wild material. Clearly, this is a guy to keep an eye on.” – Kurt Loader, MTV (August 14, 2009)

Fairy Tale Police (2009)

Created for XBOX’s “Horror Meets Comedy” project, FAIRY TALE POLICE is a COPS inspired reality web-series that follows two police officers played by Racheal Leigh Cook (SHE’S ALL THAT) and Parry Shen (HATCHET) as they maintain order in a land full of storybook villains and cartoonish monsters. Currently playing exclusively on XBOX LIVE gaming consoles.

Saber (2009)

The multi-award winning ArieScope short SABER took home two Lucasfilm Awards in the 2009 Star Wars Fan Film Contest at San Diego Comic-Con (“Audience Choice” and “Best Action”). Written and directed by Adam Green, SABER went on to become a viral Youtube sensation and spawn two sequels (SABER 2 in 2012 and SABER 3 in 2014). Geeks everywhere… you’re welcome.

The TiVO (2008)

A man is delighted by how his new TiVO has changed his life, until it becomes obsessed with him and begins killing people. Starring Parry Shen (HATCHET 1-3), our 10th annual ArieScope Halloween short film has been a contender for “fan favorite” since the day it launched in 2008.

The Road To Frightfest (2008)

“Wanna see something really scary?” Horror directors Adam Green and Joe Lynch created this collection of five vignettes to be played (one per night) at the UK’s FRIGHTFEST film festival in London. Lovingly recreating John Landis’ classic opening to TWILIGHT ZONE: THE MOVIE, these promos brought down the house each night of the festival and spawned two more years of “Road To Frightfest” shorts in 2009 and 2010. Featuring surprise cameos that will please any die-hard horror fan, all five of the promos are featured here.
