Harry Potter producer Michael Barnathan stops by The Movie Crypt

Legendary producer Michael Barnathan (HARRY POTTER, THE HELP) joins Adam and Joe for this week’s fantastic episode of The Movie Crypt discussing how he navigated the Hollywood system to become one of the most successful movie producers of all time.  Listen here.

It was announced today that FEARNet will be coming to an end.  You can read the full details in Deadline Hollywood’s announcement here.

From HOLLISTON’s creator Adam Green: “In regard to today’s public news about the end of FEARnet, no this does not necessarily reflect on the possibility of future seasons of HOLLISTON as we have always been an independently produced and owned show that FEARnet licensed.  If you listen to THE MOVIE CRYPT then you already know that we have been entertaining other distribution options for quite some time as this news was inevitable.  For now, the future of HOLLISTON is on hold as the cast is continuing our hiatus and planning other projects in the wake of our own tragic loss.  Most importantly I am personally not going to be ready to go back to the show until I’ve had the time I need to heal over the passing of my beloved friend Dave Brockie- however long that takes me.  My condolences to all of my friends and family at FEARnet.  Great people who will go on to even greater things and greater career opportunities.”

The Dave Brockie Foundation

The Dave Brockie Foundation is a charity fund with the mission of promoting the advancement of music, images, letters and performances in the arts. It will endeavor to encourage promising talents, as well as preserving the legacy of Dave’s body of works. It intends to be a support system to those who have dedicated their lives in pursuit of creativity. The Dave Brockie Foundation will be a resource for artists in the fields of music, film, literature and all visual arts who cannot find funding through mainstream channels. The DBF will also strive to catalog and preserve Dave’s vast collection of original images, recordings and written words, and make them available for the world to appreciate. The foundation’s first goal is to finance the creation of a memorial monument in Richmond, Virginia to provide the world with a place to pay respects to the memory of a very cherished man.

HOLLISTON’s Tribute to Dave Brockie

Since the passing of our brother Dave “Oderus Urungus” Brockie on March 23rd, there have been an enormous number of amazing tributes in the media.  Over the past week, Adam Green has posted a personal blog/eulogy (read here) and has also released a special “Dave Brockie Tribute” episode of THE MOVIE CRYPT podcast (listen here) that he and Joe Lynch recorded along with many of Dave’s friends and coworkers contributing their own farewell messages and stories.

With the HOLLISTON Season 2 Blu-Ray being released this week, the following video tribute celebrating Dave/”Oderus” and his amazing work on the series has been put together on behalf of the cast and crew.  Laugh, remember, and say goodbye to our friend and co-star Dave Brockie below…
